Why Emails Bounced

Thursday 7 August 2008 @ 2:56 am

Common errors include typo error, putting a full stop at the end of the e-mail address or forgetting to add in the “@”.

If you are writing to someone who has posted a message online, they may have added the words “no spam” into their e-mail address to confuse the robots (software that gather info online). For example, if you see “joseph@nospam.josephyap.com”, all you have to do is take out the word nospam.

The problem is, your office firewall may have been configured by your admistrator to prevent you from accessing it. One way to circumvent around the restriction is to use a different web address. Instead of using the usual htt://mail.google.com, use www.gmail.com, http://googlemail.com or https://m.gmail.com.
